Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his family with community service. The first time, he was born by Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie on a farm near Eufala located in Oklahoma as one of their nine children. Second football he was the third brother who were players for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in across the country. For the three seasons that Roy was a starter, Oklahoma won two National Championships. As an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was given a scholarship for the third year in the year 1975. Selmon earned a degree as an educator. Lee Roy was involved in volunteering for ten hours per week during his time at college. After graduating Lee Roy moved to Tampa where he spent nine years playing for Tampa's Buccaneers. 3 times he was named All-Pro. He began his business career. The first job he had was a Account Relations Officer with First Florida Bank, Tampa. He has worked in the past for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of Ten of America's top young males. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 7-foot-2. In his time at college, he commanded the team of 1975. In 1993, Roy was a part of the university of south Florida's sports department as the Director of Athletics as an associate. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded the Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
