She left in 1969 from the Panthers in 1969 and resigned from high school, after having attended Calumet High School, and Kenwood High School. (Now Kenwood Academy). She performed in Chicago along with Cash McCall and his group Lyfe that also featured Hassan Khan. Chaka as well as Hassan Khan married in the 1970s.
