She's the daughter of Harvey Welker (a Native American father) and Julie Welker (an African-American mom). Her mother is an agent, and her father is an civil engineer. She graduated from the Germantown Friends School which is located in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood, in 1994. In 1998, she earned the bachelor's degree from Harvard College. Welker as well as John Hughes, a famous marketing director for Merck Philadelphia with two children together. The couple started having an affair. John is her husband and 4 years younger than her.
